Cedar Music is locally owned, and has been since it first opened almost 50 years ago.  

It was first opened in 1973 under the name Liebhardt Music by Berenice Liebhardt.  The store was sold to Howard and LaNia Munson in 1984, and became Munson’s Music.  Dale and Jolene Heit bought the store in 2001, and renamed it Cedar Music Store & Studio, adding a lesson studio to the store.  

In October 2019, Derrek and Leslie Adams bought the store.  In addition to continuing the lesson studio, they have added more band and orchestra rentals, and expanded the inventory of instruments and accessories to better meet the needs of students and musicians in Cedar City and Southern Utah.
